Chapter One: Archaeologist’s dream of a lifetime
"I can't believe I've been an Archaeologist all these years and all I have to show for the thirty plus years is a couple dinosaur bones. I feel I've been nothing, but a disgrace to all archaeologists abroad. When will my luck change?" said a sad Dr. Moreland.
Sometimes when we are at our lowest points in life some kind of intervention steps in and our luck changes, and that's what is about to happen to Dr. Moreland the moment he pulls his revolver from his desk, and points the gun to his head. Just as he pulled trigger, and closed his eyes, and nothing happened the door of his study burst open with the news he had been waiting for all these years. A young ambitious student of Dr. Moreland's said "Dr. Moreland! Dr. Moreland!" as he gasped for air.
"What is it? Can't you see you interrupted me, I was about to end my worthless life, this better be good," explained Dr. Moreland in frustration.
"You're not going to believe this, but a good friend of mine was on an expedition in Egypt and was told by some old man that said he can lead us to King Necron's tomb."
"What do you need me for? There are many well qualified archaeologists that were more successful than I.” “Why don't you go now and let me try again? Maybe this time I'll succeed,” replied Dr. Moreland in a sad tone of voice.
"Didn't you tell no matter me how frustrating it can be in this business to keep on trying because when you least expect it your luck can change in an instant?" explained the eager student.
"Yes, I said those words, but I only said it so you wouldn't end up like me old and broke with nothing to show for it," as the doctor laid his head down on his desk sobbing.
"Dr. Moreland, don't destroy what you instilled in me. Wipe those tears dry, and let's get on the next plane to Egypt, and make history. I'll make a deal with you if I'm wrong I'll end my life as well. Come on! Come on! What do you say?"
"Ok! Ok!" then the doctor placed his revolver in his suitcase for protection when he and his colleague arrived in Egypt. The doctor got on the phone and scheduled their flight to Egypt.
The student helped Dr. Moreland in rounding up more students to help with the expedition.
Later that afternoon, Dr. Moreland and his team of wannabe archaeologists were on a plane heading towards the greatest find ever and a curse that would be unleashed when the tomb of King Necron was opened.
"Dr. Moreland wake up the plane has landed," said one of his students.
"OK, let's get off this plane and discuss what our parts will be in this great expedition," said Dr. Moreland as he yawned.
They all got their luggage and headed to their hotel for the night.
Chapter Two: The old man
After a good night’s rest Dr. Moreland and his three students met up with the old man that would lead them to King Necron's tomb.
The old man lead the archaeologists about a hundred yards from the exact location of the tomb, as the sun was setting the old man said to Dr. Moreland and his students, "I would take you the rest of the way, but there is a curse, once you enter the doorway in the pyramid there is no turning back"
Dr. Moreland chimed in and said "What curse?"
Before the old man had a chance to reveal the curse a shot rang out and the old man fell to the ground dead.
Dr. Moreland and his students took off running as fast as they could, dodging bullets as they got closer and closer to the entrance of the tomb. Finally, the gunfire ceased as they all dove for safety thinking if they raised their heads up they would be shot.
Dr. Moreland said "Let's wait hear for another five minutes to make sure it’s safe then we can proceed to the entrance of the tomb.”
Luckily, it was getting dark making their chances of survival better.
"I think the coast is clear, is every one ready to make the discovery of a lifetime?" asked a shook up Dr. Moreland.
Chapter Three: King Necron’s Tomb
Every one proceeded to the entrance of the pyramid cautiously.
Finally, after a scary moment of not knowing if they would make it to King Necron's tomb or not they all had a sigh of relief, but what lies inside the tomb was more terrifying then dodging bullets.
If only the doctor and his students could read hieroglyphics on the entrance of the tomb they could have turned around, and get back on a plane heading back home, but since they couldn't read the writing on the wall their fate was sealed.
As they entered inside the tomb with a lit torch, they saw nothing and one of the students said "What the heck is going on hear it looks like someone else beat us to the punch?"
"Let's look around a bit, we came thousands of miles and I paid a lot of money to get us hear maybe the old man was going to give us a clue where the tomb is hidden," exclaimed Dr. Moreland.
"OK, let's humor the doctor and see if there is a secret passageway to King Necron's tomb," replied one the student's.
They searched and searched and just as Dr. Moreland buried his face to shed a few tears in his hands one of the students was horsing around with another student when they fell against a wall which opened the passageway they were looking for. Dr. Moreland wiped the tears from his eyes and every one of his students gave the doctor a hug, but their little moment of joy would soon diminish as quickly as it came.
Everyone around took a deep breath and entered the room where King Necron's sarcophagus was lying. The King's sarcophagus was covered in twenty-four carat gold in the image of the King himself. As everyone gazed upon the sarcophagus one of the student's said "Look there's some kind of I guess you would call hieroglyphics, but since none of us can decipher the writings it probably doesn't mean that much anyway. It's not like he is a famous king like King Tut."
But these amateur archaeologists would soon find out the moment they entered the sacred tomb of a King, anyone that thinks they can just come in and claim a King's fortune will have grave consequences which can be as serious as death.
"Well doctor looks like your long awaited dream has come true, and when the treasures, and photographs are brought back to the states you'll be in the spotlight," said one of his student's excitedly.
Chapter Four: The Mummy’s Curse
Just as the lid of the sarcophagus was removed King Necron's eyes opened wide, and he grabbed one of the student's by the throat with a grip of steel and said "Who dares enters my tomb?"
Dr. Moreland chimed in and said "We mean no harm."
King Necron squeezed the student's neck as he begged for his life. Then the King said "Do you even have the slightest idea who I am?"
Everyone said "No!"
"Well let me tell you "Before I died I opened the portal to Hell, and saw things no other man on this earth has ever seen, then a demon came to me in a dream, and told me I was going to write the Book of the Dead formally known as Necronomicon hence the naming of the book which is part of my name. So since you know the truth you all must die." said King Necron.
The mummy squeezed the student's neck so tight that his head was severed from his body. Then Dr. Moreland pulled out his gun and fired upon the mummy with no avail.
Dr. Moreland did his best to calm every one down by saying, "As least comforting as my words bring you, when you are an archaeologist in unfamiliar surroundings anything can happen and sad to say on most expeditions people lose their lives. We still have to be strong, and finish what our ultimate
goal is, and that is bringing back proof to the archaeologist community that these things do exist, and should be displayed for all mankind to read in history books, and learn what it was like to live in the past, and see how advanced these cultures were, and try to understand their beliefs etc.
But the sincere words from Dr. Moreland were not going to change the mummy’s mind on protecting his sacred tomb.
The mummy got out of his sarcophagus and approached Dr. Moreland as the doctor fired shot after shot. The doctor told the remaining student's to leave the tomb for their safety, but by the time they reached the entrance to freedom King Necron said some incantations from the book of the dead closing the entrance to the tomb leaving no way out, but only one option death would be their escape. The mummy said "Dr. Moreland I'm tired of holding this head here catch." The mummy tossed the severed head at Dr. Moreland hitting him in the chest. Dr. Moreland fell back and begged King Necron to let them go, but King Necron laughed, and grabbed the doctor by the throat, and raised him off the ground with his grip of steel, and said "Dr. Moreland it's a shame you had to disturb my tomb, and think you could walk out with my riches like you had every right to do so. Enough said," Then the mummy squeezed Dr. Moreland's neck with all his might and his head was severed from his shoulders. The mummy tossed Dr. Moreland's head at the two remaining survivors as their screams went unnoticed from the outside world.
The two survivors ran to the entrance trying to claw their way out to freedom, but all they accomplished was bloody fingers of pain. The mummy approached the two survivors as they looked upon the mummy in terror knowing their fate has been sealed. The mummy decided on ending their lives in a different way by ripping their hearts out of their chests and drinking the blood from them as a sacrifice to himself for keeping his tomb safe from the outside world.
After the mummy wiped the last drop of blood from his mouth he laughed, and unsealed the entrance to his tomb, and got back into his sarcophagus with the help of some of his demon friends then went back to sleep until the next brave archaeologists discover King Necron’s tomb, and try to claim his wealth, and bring back to the states for fame, but that will never happen or will it. Ha!Ha!Ha! laughed the mummy as his laugh echoed throughout the tomb.
